Buellton Real Estate

Buellton is a small city in the Santa Ynez Valley with a population of less than 5,000. The core of the Buellton real estate market is located at the intersection of the 101 Freeway and the Santa Ynez River. It is a popular stop for travelers along the 101 Freeway and is the first town encountered after heading north on the freeway from the Santa Barbara area.

Several attractions are present in Buellton, including Andersen’s Pea Soup restaurant. The historic Danish town of Solvang is merely minutes away, and offers a variety of boutiques, bakeries, and restaurants, as well as the popular Solvang Festival Theater. Adjacent to Solvang is Santa Ynez, the largest town of the valley, which provides many public services to the area. Despite being inland by about 8 miles, the town enjoys a Mediterranean coastal climate. Temperatures are slightly higher than directly on the coast, however, with summer high temperatures frequently in the 80s and winter highs in the 60s.

Residents of Buellton take advantage of the great climate by getting outdoors. Opportunities abound for hiking, camping, horseback riding, bicycling and more. The Zaca Creek Golf Course is just one of several courses in the area. Other attractions include wine tasting at nearby wineries and picking fruit directly from local farms. Apples, blueberries, strawberries, and more are seasonal crops available to anyone who wants to go and gather fruit by the bucket.

Though the real estate market in Buellton is small, there is a wide range of properties available. Everything from condos and townhomes to large ranches can be found in the Buellton area. People often look for homes in the Santa Ynez Valley due to its peaceful, laid-back country feel, while never being too far from the conveniences and amenities of larger cities nearby. Most of the Buellton real estate community is only about 20 minutes from Lompoc, 30 minutes from Santa Maria, and 40 minutes from Santa Barbara.
